11 August 2011
Return to index
The number of roles for professionals in Ireland has climbed during the year to July 2011, new figures show.
According to the Irish Employment Monitor for the month, despite the current economic uncertainty across the eurozone, recruitment of those in executive positions remains strong.
There were 7,900 such roles recorded over the period from June, while the number of jobseekers fell slightly by seven per cent to 9,210.
Compiled by Morgan McKinley, the measure also showed a decline month-on-month in vacancies for professionals of four per cent, while hiring in sectors such as finance and accountancy and
IT
remained high.
Chief operations officer at the company Karen O'Flaherty stated: "The latest figures show that the levels of new professional jobs in Ireland are stabilizing as we progress into H2 11."
Between June and July this year, recent figures from Ireland's Central Statistics Office showed a 0.1 point increase in the standardized rate of unemployment to 14.3 per cent.
