Baidu is planning to hire US IT specialists in order to enhance its offering.
This is according to Reuters, which suggested the search engine may benefit from the recent decision by Google to move out of China following a disagreement over censorship with the authorities.
It is part of efforts by Baidu to increase its technological profile and boost its international reach, with hiring taking place at a fair being held in Silicon Valley, California on July 10th.
From July, the news source states, the internet giant plans to start recruiting people to fill IT jobs in China including an estimated 30 positions for software engineers.
The firm's human resources director, Zheng Bin, told Reuters that it "believes that talent is the key to our success" and its need for new skilled individuals will grow in the future.
In related news, China's National Population and Family Planning Commission has predicted that its industrialization will result in more than half of the projected population living in urban areas by 2015.
