11 May 2011
The European agency work sector has recorded ten months in a row of expansion, a new report reveals.

Carried out by the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (Eurociett), the survey shows year-on-year growth in the field of 25.2 per cent in January 2011.

The month in question saw a 37.8 per cent leap in the number of workers in contract and agency roles in Germany compared with January 2010.

Meanwhile, Italy saw the hours worked by individuals in such posts rise by 31.5 per cent year-on-year, while France recorded a 24.5 per cent increase.

Over the 12 months, sales in France expanded by 25.5 per cent, by 12.4 per cent in Belgium and by ten per cent in the Netherlands.

Eurociett has also announced it has approved the work programme for Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee on Temporary Agency Work alongside UNI Europe for the 2011-12 fiscal year to maximize the contribution of temporary staff to the market.
