Employment is key on agenda for France and Germany

09 January 2012
Employment and growth will be the most important factors on the agenda for Germany and France as their leaders meet up to discuss the Eurozone problems.

According to the German finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, the most pressing issues will centre around getting those countries using the Euro to start spending again, and helping create opportunities for people to get back into full-time jobs.

"The countries that have problems with overly high deficits must credibly reduce their deficits; the competitiveness of all economies must be strengthened," he added.

Countries in the Eurozone like Greece have seen employment suffer because of the state of its economy, with many workers reportedly heading to Australia in order to secure jobs which they simply cannot find in Greece,

It was also recently reported that Greece and Spain are the two Eurozone countries with the lowest levels of employment, with some 22.3 per cent of people in Spain out of work.
