The European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (Eurociett) has been involved in recent discussions regarding agency work in Austria.

Michael Freytag, the organization's policy advisor, debated regulation of the European Union (EU) sector during a round table event.

Entitled Agency work - a European perspective, the talks were also attended by Gerhard Flennreiss of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, who acted as the other keynote speaker.

Topics covered during the talks on August 31st included developments in legislation within Europe, the contribution agency staff make to well-functioning European labor markets and the specific characteristics of the Austrian market.

In addition, delegates explored the transposition of the EU Directive on temporary agency work and the future evolution of the market.

A recent conference in India featured an address by Eurociett president Annemarie Muntz on industry developments and global efforts to enhance flexibility and fairness for contract workers around the world.
