Finance jobs 'being created in emerging markets'

01 August 2011
Although hiring growth remains sluggish in many western nations, emerging economies are increasing recruitment in the financial services sector.

Individuals seeking finance jobs may be interested in a new article for Dow Jones, which suggests new positions are still being generated in locations outside Europe and North America.

Writer Richard Partington has listed destinations that are seeing large numbers of employment opportunities in the sector, including the Bahamas, Kazakhstan, the Seychelles, Kenya, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Czech Republic, Morocco and the Philippines.

He quoted eFinancialCareers managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific James Bennett as saying that "if you look at some of the emerging markets then we're still in a job creation mode".

Unemployment across the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development region stood stable at 8.1 per cent during May 2011, holding steady for the third month in a row.
