Firms still looking to increase staff in short to medium term
31 January 2012

Despite the economic downturn and continued eurozone issues still continuing to affect companies, the majority of those in the UK will still be looking to add to their employee levels this year, according to a new report.
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), said in its January JobsOutlook report that 63 per cent of companies in the UK will be looking to advertise jobs this month, with only 13 per cent looking to retain their number.
It was also reported that demand for temporary staff will remain high this year.
Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, said: "The data also shows that the vast majority of businesses plan to maintain or increase their use of temporary staff which indicates that flexible working options will continue to provide an important outlet for employers and job-seekers."
Earlier this week, the UK was getting ready to welcome 400 jobs, thanks to a proposed new headquarters for Domino Printing Solutions in Cambridge.
