Growth forecast in environmental law jobs in US

14 October 2011
Jobs growth is expected to be faster in the environmental law sector than across the field in general, it has been stated.

According to Investopedia, the number of environmental law jobs in the US is forecast to rise sharply by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), with those in the private sector tending to pay higher than positions in the non-profit sector.

Environmental law is cited as one of the roles that permit people to have an environmentally-friendly position, while still "bringing home an enviable paycheck".

With law proving highly-competitive and lucrative, environmental lawyers are defending and filing lawsuits for violations of legislation, as well as helping individuals and organizations to secure permits.

In addition, the article also suggests that there are number of other fields in which green jobs are emerging, including physics, mining, transportation, telecommunications, farming, engineering, construction and geoscience.

Recent released statistics from the BLS revealed that there were 103,000 new jobs created in the US during September this year, with new roles emerging in the professional and business services, construction and healthcare industries.
