21 August 2011
Return to index
India's organized sector has created more than 700,000 roles throughout 2011 so far.
Some 704,800 positions - including
IT jobs
in India - have become available in the nation between January and June, with a further 369,200 expected to be created throughout the remainder of the year, according to the Ma Foi Ranstad Employment Trends Survey.
E Balaji, managing director and chief executive officer of Ma Foi Ranstad, explained: "The results of the survey shows that in spite of the apprehensions facing the market, employers are not shying away from recruiting."
The study - created on a quarterly basis and covering 690 companies across 13 different sectors - also suggested a total of 1.6 million jobs will be created in India as a whole throughout the duration of 2011.
Analyst Crisil Research recently forecast some 55 million additional job opportunities will be needed in between now and the year 2015 to ensure the current employment rate is maintained.
