Graduates leaving university with law degrees in Singapore may be pleased to learn that their salaries are the highest on average.
This is according to new research on starting wages for those with higher education qualifications, which covered 89 companies, Asia One reports.
In its report, Hay Group noted that those seeking legal jobs in Singapore after graduation received an average salary of $2,650 a month, rising from $2,565 in 2009.
Furthermore, average pay for the top ten per cent of candidates increased from $3,158 last year from $3,220 per month and those with Master's degrees also saw a rise in wages.
Other highly-paid professions for graduates include
engineering
, research and development and
IT
and telecommunications, with the top ten per cent garnering salaries of $3,168 to $3,220.
Recent figures from Statistics Singapore showed that the island's employment rate grew in the second quarter of 2010 by 26,500 positions, the fourth consecutive three-monthly increase in a row.
