New global HQ will create 400 jobs

30 January 2012
People looking for jobs in the manufacturing industry in the UK could soon see a boost thanks to the creation of 400 jobs in Cambridge.

The government is set to give the go-ahead to the building of a new global headquarters for Domino Printing Sciences next to its current building, which currently holds over 500 employees.

The company is applying to build a state-of-the-art production and office area in the Cambridge area, which it says will help to promote jobs in the region.

Jo Mills, the district council’s planning and new communities manager, told Cambridge News: "The proposal represents a significant expansion opportunity for an established existing company, which is a significant local employer, and will provide the opportunity for the creation of an additional 400 jobs in the period up to 2022."

Recently, West Bengal also welcomed a global company in a bid to create jobs, with Microsoft's research facility expected to create 19,000 IT jobs in India.
