Polish jobs market increases

19 December 2011
Unemployment levels in Poland will be eased as more jobs have become available across the country, according to new figures.

The latest date released by Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) has shown that companies in Poland increased the numbers of jobs available by 2.5 per cent in November compared to the same month in 2010, and by 0.1 per cent when compared to October, the first monthly rise since June.

Poland was recently announced as one of the key growth areas for a major business, with Hilton hotels naming it one of its most important regions.

As well as an increase in the number of people in employment in the country, Polish people have also seen their wages increase this year, with the average gross income growing by 4.4 per cent in the space of the last 12 months.

Bank Zachodni WBK analysts wrote in a market report: "This is really a positive surprise given that in November seasonal factors usually are not supportive for job creation."
