Located in the state of Maharashtra in the west of India, Pune has been named as the leading Tier II employment center in the country.

Within the same timeframe, the data from the Associated Chambers of Commerce and

The highest recruiting sectors in Pune during the quarter were
IT
, banking,
IT
-enabled services, education and automotive, while those in Lucknow were education, banking, fast moving consumer goods, insurance and
IT
-enabled services.
Among Tier III cities, Ranchi was cited as the highest job producing center, with 16.8 per cent of new positions, followed by Mangalore (12.6 per cent) and Mysore (11.08 per cent).
Meanwhile, a recent Assocham study suggested that absenteeism rates could be cut by between two and three per cent by introducing regular medical check-ups for employees.
