Russia and France enter into labor migration deal

31 December 2010
A new agreement has been reached by officials in both France and Russia regarding labor migration between the two states.

Under the terms of the employment pact, red tape for those wishing to move from one nation to the other seeking work will be reduced, the Voice of Russia reports.

Intended to simplify job regulations on a bilateral basis, the deal has been outlined in a new document that has been approved for ratification by the Russian president.

Dmitry Medvedev has given his backing for a new system that will make it easier for companies transferring employees and their families to obtain entry visas.

In addition, foreign specialists operating in fields such as science and research will find it easier to obtain paperwork to move to special economic zones in Russia.

Mr Medvedev recently declared economic modernization in the country will generate additional employment opportunities and could boost quality of life in the future, according to RIA Novosti.
