Those searching for
IT jobs
in the UK may be interested to note the results of a new report undertaken by Zurich, which revealed some 57 per cent of mid-size technology companies fear losing key members of their staff.
According to the study - entitled the Technology Hazard Warning Report - businesses in the sector regard attracting employees with the right skills sets as their greatest priority.
Geoff White, senior market underwriter for Zurich UK's TechMedia branch, said employers are currently experiencing a "brain drain" in the
industry
".
He added many bosses "fear this even more for the future, losing skilled employees to overseas competitors, which provide a richer, more challenging environment for them to work in".
Furthermore, some 41 per cent of those questioned for the study claimed retaining key members of their workforce was their top priority.
According to the European Information Technology Observatory, the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) nations could see growth of up to ten per cent in their
IT
sectors this year.
