Microsoft 'the best place to work in Europe'

Microsoft 'the best place to work in Europe'Microsoft has been named as the best large organization to work at in Europe, in news which may interest those searching for job vacancies.

The company scooped the Best Large Workplace in Europe 2010 award at the Great Place to Work Institute's European conference in Madrid, which seeks to honor companies that make significant investments in the health and wellbeing of their staff.

It is the third year in a row that the accolade has been bestowed upon Microsoft.

Jean-Philippe Courtois, president of Microsoft International, said that the technology used in its work environment helped employees strike a good work and life balance.

He added that, despite the economic challenges of the past year, "we continue to be optimistic especially as our industry transitions toward what we believe is the next big era in technology - cloud computing".

The company declared that over 70 per cent of its workers are currently involved in cloud technology.

Meanwhile, Gill Trevelyan, head of good practice services at Acas, recently highlighted the importance of striking a good balance between work and life in order to help employees fulfil their potential.
