New US manufacturing development 'to create 500 jobs'

New US manufacturing development 'to create 500 jobs'A new facility opened in the US by ManTech International is expected to generate between 300 and 500 jobs in the area over the coming three years.

Built near Aberdeen, Maryland, the site has undergone a groundbreaking ceremony and work will continue to create a new location for the technical and engineering specialist at 4696 Millennium Drive in Belcamp.

The development at the Water's Edge Corporate Campus is being managed by construction firm Manekin and Alex Brown Realty in order to house the growing workforce of ManTech in the state.

Scheduled to open in March next year, the plant will cover 63,000 sq ft, with between 300 and 500 new technology and engineering new jobs in the US expected as a result.

ManTech chairman and chief executive George Pedersen commented: "We are extremely pleased to expand our local presence by making a substantial investment in Maryland, adding to our more than 9,000 employees worldwide."

Meanwhile, more than 400 new manufacturing jobs in the US are being created in Kentucky with the launch of a new coalition project, the Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
