Russia is looking for two people to provide it with legal representation at the European Court of Human Rights.

Having lost the majority of cases brought against it at the institution, Moscow is now seeking a pair of defense lawyers, according to news agency RIA Novosti.

The move, which may interest those seeking legal jobs in Russia, has been reported by the country's Federal Chamber of Lawyers and comes after the nation ratified Protocol 14 to the European Convention of Human Rights.

A statement from the body read: "The Justice Ministry seeks two defense lawyers to represent Russia at Strasbourg, including in criminal and in civil issues."

It added that the government is offering salaries of 7.5 million rubles for each legal expert.

The recent ratification is intended to speed up processing of complaints from individuals through the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, many of which have been filed in Russia.

Meanwhile, the Lawyer reports that Russia's Ministry of Justice has held meetings with industry experts to discuss the formation of a new legal regulator.
