Our Financial Officer will be responsible for managing the overall group consolidation and reporting in accordance with IFRS and statutory reporting for the Norwegian subsidiaries. In addition, the position is responsible for managing and developing a team of nine people working with global processes related to external reporting, consolidation and intercompany, revenue and project accounting, tax accounting and technical GAAP.

The Financial Officer (FO) is placed in the company's CFO organization in the department "Financial Accounting & Reporting" (FARO), and reports to the Chief Accounting Officer. FO is part of the accounting management team which is responsible for managing most all aspects of the entire PGS Group external financial reporting requirements.

  • Maintain a full perspective and specific insight with respect to the financial reporting requirements to satisfy the group IFRS reporting needs, statutory reporting requirements, taxation reporting and tax accounting
  • Key contact and coordinator with external auditors
  • Ensure that the accounts in financial statements are fairly presented and in accordance with PGS policy, IFRS and, BU guidance (for operating management purposes) and are reported timely
  • Primarily responsible for technical memos addressing resolution of significant accounting considerations in the group
  • Manage an efficient, accurate and timely process for recording of entries in the global processes
  • Manage the global process teams responsible for external reporting, Consolidation and Intercompany, Revenue accounting, Project accounting, Tax accounting and technical GAAP
  • Actively participate in FARO management, setting policies, coordination of resources and staff development
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or Audit
  • Solid work experience in a similar role and/or with an Audit background
  • Sound professional knowledge and interest in accounting standards, particularly IFRS
  • General familiarity with Norwegian taxation and statutory reporting requirements
  • Sound knowledge of internal control
