In that case, the role as an Intendent at Stena Line could be the right challenge for you!

With your genuine passion for leadership you will be responsible for the operations on board, the Onboard Sales & Services and ensuring first class service.

What will you work with?
As an Intendent you will be responsible in creating profitable sales and providing service of world class onboard your ship. You will have the full responsibility for your personnel and the entire business of the ship. You will report to the Onboard Sales & Service Manager. You will be liable for the onboard service business which means that you will operatively plan, lead and allocate the total work load together with your department managers in accordance to business goals and best practice. You will have an overall focus in order to create profitable departments onboard together with your department managers. You will be responsible for the total budget and will be a part of the ship's management team. Your mission is to develop and push sales and customer experience through creating a proactive sales culture based on targets.

Examples of your responsibilities

• Be in charge of the OSS organization onboard

• Be responsible for the Onboard Sales & Services' budget

• Be a part of the ship's management team

• Push operational activities onboard regarding the OSS function

• Ensure first class service onboard according to company policies

• Proactively take initiative to streamline operations and advocate best practice

This position is an employment at a shipping company, which means you will be employed at Stena Line but your ship's placement might change during your employment. You will normally work 7 days on and 7 days off. During your week at work you will also live onboard the ship.

Who are you?

As we are in the middle of a process of transformation, you will need to feel comfortable to lead under such circumstances, to inspire your personnel and convert good ideas to practice. You are a calm and steady individual who will remain in control under pressure. You must be interested in developing our commercial business as well as in meeting the demands of our customers. Setting targets for yourself, your employees and the business is given. You will have a very good ability to communicate with others no matter who they are and you can through your presence in the business influence it in the right direction.

Qualifications

• Experience from having worked in a commercially focused enterprise

• College education or university education within economy or social sciences is a plus

• At least 10 years experience from service and sales

• At least 5 years experience as a leader with your own personnel and leading a process of change

• At least 1 year experience as a Kitchen manager, Assistant service manager or Service manager

• Experience from managing a budget, have worked towards KPI's and following up on results

• Have good computer and system skills

• Be fluent in English and Swedish, both orally and in writing

This is an employment where a 6 month probation period will apply. The job entails varying working hours during all hours of the day and our business runs seven days a week, all year round.
